Though beautiful, after moving to Austin I experienced what a lot of people experience once they move here...ALLERGIES!! Medications would alleviate the headaches and sinus pressures but the sneezing and the watery eyes were, seemingly, incurable, until I came across the Alen T300. I was skeptical because I had tried many others before and none succeeded but I was willing to try anything. I plugged in the T300 (Very quiet) and left it running over night and the next morning noticed a significant difference in the air. NO SNEEZING or watery eyes!! It's worth every penny!!
Thanks!

| After living constantly with waking up to allergy symptoms and all kinds of medicines to address the symptoms, I finally saw an info-commercial for air purifiers and the light bulb went off. I did the research and found that the Alen and IQAir products were the best and cleaned over 95% of contaminants in the air where the info-commercial product only cleaned about 35% of the contaminants. The Alen was best price for feature for my budget with a lifetime warranty so I purchased it. Now my son and I wake up mostly free of any allergy symptoms and the feeling is wonderful! |

| Living in Georgia with all the pollen I developed allergies. I would sit in my den watching TV and find myself getting stuffed up and congested. That all stopped (with no medications) when I got the T300. I have bought several air purifiers but only the Alen T300 has made a noticeable and lasting difference in the air quality in my home. I own 2 and sleep with one in my bedroom. I sleep much better and can actually breath freely all night. I have had no problems with either unit and highly recommend the Alen products to anyone looking for a top rated trouble free unit. |

| We've had this in our bedroom for about a year, with no problems. We run it 24 hours a day on the lowest setting, and the noise is not noticeable across the room when we're sleeping. Anything higher than LOW, however, is quite noisy, despite the claims. Operation is fairly easy, and maintenance is simple. Taking off the back cover reveals the two HEPA filters, which fit into two close fitting spaces. These are easily removed. The HEPA filters have a foam back pre-filter attached by Velcro-type tape. We vacuum these covers or wash them if they are particularly dirty, about twice a month. I have not had any problem replacing the back cover. If you line up the proper tab with the appropriate hole, and snap the top in, there is a beep which indicates the back is properly closed. There is an LED readout on the unit which purports to let you know when you need to replace the HEPA filters. The colors of the lights change from green to yellow to red. Supposedly when all the LED indicators turn red you need to replace the filters. I have no idea whether this is true. After twelve months the air is still noticeably cleaner in our room, and my wife's allergies are much better. I would buy this again. |

I did a lot of research, reading and talking to people before finally deciding on the Alen T300. I was worried about a few things: 1.Noise 2.Filter price, 3.Ozone generation, and 4.power consumption. Im happy that this air filter really met all the criteria I was after.
1. Noise. Really what good is an air purifier if you cant sleep with the thing on? Or hear the TV for that matter? This air purifer is really quiet. The white noise it provides at night when all is silent is equivalent to the sound of a hotel air conditioner running. My wife and I find it quite relaxing and its nice to sleep along to.
2. Filter. The filter has a foam pre-filter that is easily removable and washable so the filters should last a long time, when they need to be replaced they cost $49. a pair (it uses two at a time) Not bad seeing that most people can get two years out of the filters running about 2200 hours a year. The UV bulb that can be turned on and off to kill Virus and bacteria in the air can be easily replaced.
3.Ozone- Read the EPA report people, Ozone is bad for your lungs!!! Many ionizing air purifiers produce Ozone (not good) the Inizer with the T300 is a negative ionizer (negative ions = good for humans, Positive Ions = bad for humans) so it doesnt produce ozone and its not harmful to humans. If you dont like the idea of an ionizer at all you can simply turn it off.
4.Power consumption- The power consumption over the past three months with two of these running on the #2 fan speed (low is 1, high is 4) for approx. 9 hours a day hasnt added much to our bill at all, actually its hardly noticeable that there even was a change in consumption of electricity.
Fit and finish is top notch, and the controls are clear and easy to use. All settings are clearly laid out for you when the unit is running so you know with a glance at the LCD screen whats on.
If your considering an air purifier, this should be at the top of your list. I purchased my units brand new for a cost of $270. each and best of all Alen offers a lifetime warranty on their products, because as they state "We dont want our products to wind up taking up space in a landfill somewhere". Sounds pretty environmentally responsible to me.
Go ahead, try one. I dont think you'll be disappointed with this unit. |
